News of Whitney Houston's sudden death shocked Hollywood on Saturday, but none more than Recording Academy president Neil Portnow, who is now in the midst of revamping Sunday's Grammy Awards to feature a tribute with singer Jennifer Hudson.
"The Grammys, because of the size of the production and all of the elements -- with three stages and thousands of microphones and sets and costumes -- it's a difficult show, like the Titanic, to move in the 11th hour," Portnow told reporters at Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy gala. "That being said, I have the A-Team and I have a bunch of nimble people who are very smart, and we're in the process of deciding creatively what might be appropriate and what we can do tomorrow. Certainly, she'll be in our hearts."

Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan will perform a tribute to Whitney Houston at Sunday night's Grammy Awards, Entertainment Tonight reports. Houston died on Saturday at the age of 48.
Grammy executive producer Ken Erhlich tells the Los Angeles Times event organizers believed Hudson could perform a "respectful musical tribute" to Houston.
"It's too fresh in everyone's memory to do more at this time, but we would be remiss if we didn't recognize Whitney's remarkable contribution to music fans in general, and in particular her close ties with the Grammy telecast and her Grammy wins and nominations over the years," Ehrlich told the newspaper.
Khan tweeted her condolences after learning of Houston's death, "I'm speechless...I'm in shock right now. Just pray for her and the family."
Hudson and Khan both had a deep personal connection to Whitney. Hudson has often spoken of the deceased singer's influence on her own vocal style, while Houston covered Khan's classic hit "I'm Every Woman" for the Bodyguard soundtrack in 1992.
Though Hudson and Khan's performances are the only ones confirmed at the moment, music's biggest night of the year is sure to become an impromptu tribute by many artists to one of it's brightest stars. Often referred to as the "Queen of Pop" or "the Voice," Houston is a six-time Grammy winner and the most awarded female act of all time, though her career was overshadowed in the later years with her rumored drug use.
Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55pm on Saturday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, where she was a guest and was scheduled to perform at her mentor and longtime friend Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammys party.
