Cher, who has not released a studio album since 2001, is working with Diane Warren on her new record. Warren has a string of huge hits behind her, including Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me", Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" and Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart" and Cher's, "If I Could Turn Back Time", "Love and Understanding". She also penned one of Cher's songs from her forthcoming movie Burlesque, a power ballad called "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me". "It really won't be Believe-ish," she told US magazine. "I can't put a genre to it. It's a little bit more real instruments, like guitars and stuff like that." In an interview, Cher said that her new album is still in the very early stages, with a provisional release date of 2011. [7] Her rep confirms that the new album will be released later this year and will include two versions of the album. The standard version has 14 songs while the Deluxe Edition will include 19. Her rep says: "This is going to be by far the most successful album Cher has recorded in her 45 year career." When interviewed by Vegas Weekly, the 63-year-old icon confirmed that there will be a new tour after her residency at Caesars Palace expires. “You know, I never thought I would ever consider touring again but I miss it. The new album will reportedly have a “rock” sound, which a return to form for Cher who scored some of her biggest hits with her rock-tinged stadium anthems like “I Found Someone” and “If I Could Turn Back Time”, according to the prophet blog.[9] Entertainment Weekly has posted some new news about Cher’s album, the album will have a rock theme different to Believe and is in the early stages of production. It is also rumoured Cher may remake one of her classic songs.
