Movie hunk Colin Farrell has admitted he nearly gave up acting after his film Alexander flopped. Colin starred as Alexander the Great in the 2004 flick but felt depressed when his performance and the film were panned by critics. The 34-year-old said: "That was tough. I say tough relative to a charmed life, but I'm not going to apologise for how much it affected me emotionally and psychologically. "I was going to walk away from acting. I couldn't even buy a packet of cigarettes without feeling like I needed to say sorry to the guy behind the counter just in case he happened to see the thing." And after his film Miami Vice failed in 2006, Farrell felt even worse. He added: "I just completely fell to s*** on that one. It was literally the first time I couldn't say to anyone around me, 'Have I been late for work, have I missed any days, have I been hitting my marks?' Because the answers would have been yes, yes, and no - I lost the ability to be confident that I could make a change myself. "What brought me back? A good old session in rehab."

ผมเคยจะเดินออกจากวงการบันเทิงไปแล้ว ผมไม่สามารถที่จะซื้อบุหรี่ในความรู้สึกที่ผมจะต้องมาขอโทษกับผู้คนทีหลังว่า ผมทำผลงานออกมาได้แย่มากๆ
นอกจากนี้ ภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Miami Vice ใน 2006 ก็ทำรายได้ต่ำเตี้ยสุดๆ จนเป็นเหตุให้พ่อหนุ่มเกิดท้อแท้
ผมเพิ่งผ่านความรู้สึกแย่ๆมา ความรู้สึกนี้มันเกิดขึ้นกับผมเป็นครั้งแรก ผมไม่สามารถจะพูดอะไรกับใครได้เลย ผมทั้งไปทำงานสาย ทั้งเบี้ยวงาน เหมือนผมจะถูกตราหน้าว่าเป็นไอ้ขี้แพ้ไปแล้ว
เพราะว่าคำตอบที่ผู้คนหวังจากผม ก็คือ Yes Yes แล้วก็ No ผมสูญเสียความเชื่อมั่นในตัวเองไป ในตอนนี้ผมจะต้องกลับมาเปลี่ยนแปลงตัวเองครั้งใหญ่เลยล่ะ
ถามว่าอะไรคือสิ่งที่นำผมให้กลับมายืนจุดๆนี้ได้อีกครั้ง ก็การฟื้นฟูสภาพจิตใจในสถานบำบัดยังไงล่ะ
