The singer was added to the day one line-up during Capital Breakfast this morning (31st October).
This year's event will once again take place at the O2 Arena over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th December.
Rihanna joins a line-up for the first day that already features Olly Murs, The Wanted, Pixie Lott, Calvin Harris and Jason Derulo.
The Ball will mark RiRi's eleventh performance at the O2 Arena this winter - she is currently in the middle of a record-breaking ten solo dates at the venue.
Tickets for the opening day of Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball in London have sold out in just over three hours.
Fans snapped up tickets for the event, which takes place at the O2 Arena on the 3rd and 4th December, after they went on sale at 8am this morning (31st October).
