"I watched a lot of Beyonce in concert a lot because what I realized watching B is that she has this confidence above everything and that to me was very hard to achieve so I studied her."
Gwyneth Paltrow says she prepped for her singing performances in Country Strong by studying concert tapes of her good friend Beyonce. Ms. Paltrow then tried to emulate her pal's presence on stage.
"She's so self-assured and she knows she's gonna blow everyone away, and so even if there's a mistake you wouldn't even catch it almost, you know, so I tried to just do that kind of thing."
"It's amazing she can be so beautiful and a great singer and a great actress, maybe I hate her (laughs)."
Meanwhile, costar Leighton Meester jokes that Gwyneth is almost too good to be true, and goes on to say she's been a fan of the Oscar winner for a long while.
"I love her and I've always loved her, I've always really looked up to her I think she's the real deal."
